Michael and I both went to the same church at Auburn University, but somehow we had never seen each other until one Wednesday night. We had both decided that we would give God our summer, because we knew that if we did, something amazing would happen. We were going to spend two months of our summer in the tiny town of Port Saint Joe, Florida, and we had no idea how this summer would change our lives. Those two months were well spent getting to know each other while also serving the people and kids of Port St. Joe. There was this rule over the summer that we weren’t allowed to date anyone while on the trip, so Michael waited until after midnight on our last night to ask me out on a date. About a month later, we went out on our first date. I knew after about two weeks that I was going to marry Michael one day, and after dating for almost two years Michael proposed in the place it all started – Port Saint Joe. March 28, 2020 is going to be the best day of our lives, as we look forward to starting the future God planned for us together.
